Garth, enjoy the pipe dream. One key point you failed to mention is that Rangers can use their last remaining amnesty buyout on Richards and free up $6.6 million in cap room. Sather has this team well-positioned for the future, but enjoy the thoughts of Callahan coming back home. He and will be the Rangers' captain for the foreseeable future. Also, if extensions are signed during the year, they apply to the cap next year, not this season, one in which you point out the Rangers have a ton of room and the cap is expected to rise. |

Don't you know the impossible is possible in the world according to Garth.... But Callahan is the type of pesky guy we could use , once again not that we'll get him.... |

Where Callahan, Lundqvist and Girardi land is anyone's guess at this point.
Um no, not really. |

If Cally leaves it will be to go to a contender. As for Hank it would be in his best interest to leave for an offensive powerhouse that is a goalie away from the cup. |

Or stay after the offensive powerhouse is unleashed under AV, let me take a guess as to who that team your hinting at could be, Yeah just like Garth it's a pipedream and these 3 will be right back with the core of this team.
Nobody wants to stay in Manhattan with a really young talented team who is closer than most |

Some of the early estimates point to the salary cap ceiling reaching close to the $70MM mark it was at before the lockout. With the multiple outdoor games generating revenue plus an actual full season of hockey I don't think that estimate is far off. That additional $5.6MM or so will go a long way in covering any raises the Rangers give to Hank, Cally and Girardi.
And as you said, the Rangers have left open the possibility of buying Richards out freeing up another big chunk of space. People still make fun of Slats for his bad UFA mistakes of years past but one thing we've seen is he knows how to budget the cap properly. I can't recall the last time the Rangers lost a player they wanted to keep because they didn't have the cap space to keep him. |

Rangeers an offensive powerhouse? This guy is a coach not a miracle worker - mighty13duck
How can you ignore the talent? Nash, Stepan, Cally, Brassard, Hagelin, Richards, Kreider and Zuccarello and no more fixation on having the forwards collapsing when they don't need to(Hank) |

If things fall right I think they crack the top-10 in goals scored this year. And by that I mean Richards has to be much better, Step has to prove last year wasn't a fluke and Kreider needs to step up and show he can score 25 goals in the NHL. |

None of those guys scream powerhouse. Lots of teams have much better forwards than you guys. You guys are a great defensive and goaltending team. Offense is just average. |

You failed to see Brassard flourish late last season, he was a top 10 pick not to long ago and we've only scratched the surface of Hagelin offensive talent, he's the fastest skater in the league and has the hands to go with it |

Grabner is way fast than Hagelin. Come on now. KO and Bailey flourished at the end of the season too. Does that mean they will be powerhouses? |
